50th Wedding Anniversary Dinner

This is it.  Saturday is the dinner party and all needs to be done now!  Carly and I finished the favors on Wednesday evening.  I finished all the pieces for the centerpieces last night.  I'll put them all together when I'm in Fresno tomorrow.  Everything looks great on my end...let's hope it all comes together for a great dinner celebration for my parents.

I'll post photos as I take them.

Speaking of photos, check out my parents back in the day...
So cute!  Here's a more recent photo...

Upcycle Project

These containers are made from frosting containers.  I love the way these turned out.  They are perfect for a birthday gift or how about to store a cupcake???  The cupcake decoration with the banner strip are cut using my Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge.  The pink/white ruffle on the bottom is six layers of crepe streamers sewed together in the middle and cut fringe style.  I glued the center (sewed line) to the bottom of the container and then "fluffed" them.

50th Wedding Anniversary

March 17th marks the 50th wedding anniversary for my parents.  My sisters and I will be honoring them with a celebration dinner on March 30th.  I, of course, am responsible for the invites, decorations and favors.  Yup, right up my alley.

Invitations = should be easy as I'm going the easy route and checking out Shutterfly for photo invites.  This is going to be a big shindig so it's the more convenient way to go.

Decorations = I've got to come up with 24 table centerpieces so this one is a little tougher.  My parents and many of their friends are deaf so the centerpieces must be low so everyone can communicate without visual distractions.  I'm going to check out the Dollar Tree this weekend to see what kind of glassware they have and start there.

Favors = I'm thinking about making the faux cake slices from my Cricut.  I've seen this display many times and they are so pretty.  I'm going to play around with them this weekend and see what I figure out.

I'll be sure to post photos once things are done.

Baby Bloom Slippers

I got the idea and directions from Brown Paper Packages website.  I fell in love with them and they are SO EASY!  Check out that website.  She has so many cute ideas that I know I'm going to try at one point or the other.  I'll package these two slippers, the name banner and a gift card for the new mother-to-be.  I hope she likes them.  Congratulations Amanda Gonzales!

Another Baby Shower

Didn't I say banners were my favorite things right now?  Look at this one!  I LOVE everything about this banner.  The new baby's name will be Zohie so I thought this would be adorable hanging in her room.  I always love to make handmade gifts for baby showers, so I also came up with these while browsing the web.

Lucky!

I've been so into banners lately!  They are so cute!  I created this one by gathering pretty much everything I owned that was green and just started putting things together.  This one is in the Command Center (my craft room) and I have another one that's hanging in my office cubicle.

This was originally created for a swap that I participated in at Splitcoaststampers. com.  My favorite place to swap.  There are so many nice ladies that I've become swapping friends with.  One day, I may get LUCKY and meet one or two of them.  LOL
